QIDI Tech Series Remote Access, Phone Apps, AI Failure Detection - OctoEverywhere

The QIDI Tech Q1 Pro, QIDI Tech X-Max 3, and QIDI Tech X-Plus 3 are powerful and capable 3D printers, an excellent choice for newcomers to the hobby or seasoned experts. The QIDI printers run Klipper, which makes them fast and reliable, with outstanding print quality. Did you know you can enable free and unlimited Klipper remote access, AI print failure detection, real-time print notifications, phone app support, live streaming, and more? It’s all possible with OctoEverywhere, and this quick guide will help you get set up!

OctoEverywhere’s setup process is extremely easy; it only takes about 30 seconds. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to set up free and unlimited remote access for the QIDI 3D printers.

Find Your Printer’s IP Address

First, you will need to find your printer’s IP address. All devices connected to your home network have an IP address, a unique number that identifies the devices to other devices on the network. For your computer to connect to your printer and install the OctoEverywhere plugin, you must get your QIDI 3D printer’s IP address.

To find your QIDI Tech Q1 Pro, QIDI Tech X-Max 3, or QIDI Tech X-Plus 3’s IP address, use the printer’s display; the format will look something like 192.169.1.25. Write down the IP address; you’ll need it for the next step.

SSH Into your QIDI Plus4

SSH lets you connect to your QIDI 3D printer from your desktop or laptop. To SSH, you will need a terminal, such as MobaXterm on Windows or the Terminal app on a Mac. Here is an excellent guide for downloading and using MobaXterm.

When you have your terminal ready, use the following command to SSH into your QIDI Tech Q1 Pro, QIDI Tech X-Max 3, or QIDI Tech X-Plus 3D printer:

ssh -p 22 mks@<your-printer-ip-address>

Replace the IP address with your printer’s IP address, which you found in the last step.

When SSHing into your QIDI 3D Printer, you must use a username and password. The SSH username and password for the QIDI Tech 3D Printer are:

Username: mks
Password: makerbase

When you open the SSH connection, use the password above when prompted.

Install OctoEverywhere On Your QIDI Tech 3D Printer

The last step, this one, is the easiest! Simply copy and paste this command into your SSH terminal. Note that with some terminals, you right-click your mouse on the terminal window to paste text.

bash <(curl -s https://octoeverywhere.com/install.sh)

This command will start the OctoEverywhere plugin install. The plugin installation is fully automated, and a few questions will be asked to help configure the system. At the end of the installation, the plugin installer will give you a linking code. On your desktop or phone, go to https://octoeverywhere.com/code and enter the linking code to finish the setup!
