Installing Klipper on your FlashForge Adventurer 5M or 5M Pro will unlock amazing new functionality. The Klipper open-source software comes bundled with Moonraker, Fluidd, and Mainsail. The software unlocks a powerhouse of features, including local printer control, remote access, AI print failure detection, iPhone and Android apps, print notifications, and more.
Installing Klipper on your FlashForge Adventurer 5M and 5M Pro is so easy, thanks to user xblax and his Klipper Mod AD5M project on GitHub. You only need a USB drive and about 2 minutes of your time.
Once you have Klipper installed, set up OctoEverywhere to unlock free and unlimited remote access, AI print failure detection, print notifications, mobile apps, and more. OctoEverywhere is a 3D printing community project that empowers users with free 3D printing cloud tools. It’s super neat!
Getting Started
Installing Klipper on your Flashforge is an unofficial community mod. The upgrade is designed to be fully removable and will not break the printer’s functionality. However, installing the mod might risk voiding your warranty or damaging the printer. Keep that in mind.
Download The Klipper Mod AD5M File
Visit the Adventurer 5M Klipper Mod GitHub release page to download the latest release version. At the bottom of the newest release, expand the “Assets” section and select the file depending on your printer type.

Copy the .tgz file to the root of any thumb drive.
Update Your FlashForge Adventure With Klipper
Before installing the Klipper firmware, ensure your printer is on at least version `2.4.5` of the stock FlashForge firmware. If it’s not, update it before installing Klipper.
Turn off your printer and then plug the flash drive in. Turn the printer back on and wait for the installation to finish. When the installation is done, it will be indicated on the printer’s display.
Turn off the printer, unplug the USB, and turn it back on. You now have Klipper running on your FlashForge Adventurer 5M or 5M Pro!
Configure Your FlashForge Network Or Wifi
The easiest and most reliable way to set up the network connection for your FlashForge Adventurer 5M is to use an ethernet network cable to plug directly into your router.
If you want to set up wifi for your FlashForge Adventurer 5M or 5M Pro, follow this guide.
Get Your FlashForge Adventurer 5M IP Address
To connect to your printer, you will need to find the printer’s IP address. The IP address is a unique number that lets your network know which device you’re trying to communicate with.
To find the IP address, log in to your home router and look for a list of devices. You should see your FlashForge 3D printer listed with the IP address next to it.
Open a web browser and enter http://<printer IP>:4001 into the address bar. This will connect the Fluidd web interface on your FlashForge Adventure, allowing you to control the printer and the Klipper firmware.
Setup The FlashForge Adventurer 5M Webcam In Klipper
You can see a real-time stream of your printer from your local computer or remotely from anywhere after you set up the built-in FlashForge Adventurer 5M webcam in Fluidd and Klipper.
Open the Fluidd web interface in a web browser:
- Click the gear icon at the bottom of the main menu on the left.
- Click Cameras.
- Click “+ ADD CAMERA”
- Give the camera any name you like.
