PVB is a lesser-used and a little more expansive filament. Its characteristics can be very nice for aesthetic parts or prototypes you want to build before a big production. The Polysmooth series of Polymaker is easy to print, and the significant characteristic that differentiates this filament from the others is that you can smooth it with isopropyl alcohol. It also comes in a wide variety of colors.
I generally print this filament at around 60mm/s, 210°C for the hot end, 70°C for the bed. A full-speed fan and a retraction at 30mm/s.
PVB Polishing
With PVB, you can expect a print toughness similar to regular PLA. You’ll also have a really nice definition without any layer lines for mold casting or esthetic parts for prototyping. This filament is the easiest way to get you a result that is the closest to a resin printer with an FDM printer.
To polish PVB, you can simply dip it in Isopropyl alcohol for 30min
Clear PVB
Another characteristic is the clear PVB. This filament can make you achieve some translucent, yet perfectly clear prints with some practice and the right settings.
