We are excited to introduce the world’s first cloud-based MCP server for 3D printing! OctoEverywhere is a community project designed to empower the 3D printing community with powerful cloud tools, and our new Model Control Protocol (MCP) server is no exception.
Our 3D printer MCP server enables AI chatbots and agents to:
- Retrieve live and detailed printer status and print job information.
- Retrieve live webcam snapshot images.
- Enable 3D printer control, including pause, cancel, and resume.
- With a secure and private cloud connection via OctoEverywhere.
OctoEverywhere’s MCP server works with any 3D printer using standard software like OctoPrint, Klipper, Moonraker, Mainsail, and Fluidd. We also support any 3D printer made by Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Elegoo, QIDI, Anycubic, and more.

MCP Server Setup
To set up MCP access to your 3D printer, you simply need to install the OctoEverywhere plug-in and use the MCP server details from our website. The OctoEverywhere plugin installation was designed to be as easy as possible – it takes about 20 seconds for most 3D printers!
Live Print Status & Snapshots
OctoEverywhere has plugins for every type of 3D printer, creating a centralized platform for managing and controlling your printers. We have extended this common printer interface to our MCP server, enabling any AI agent or chatbot access to a unified and detailed view of all your printers simultaneously.
Our interface allows AI chatbots or agents to retrieve information such as printer state, print status, remaining print time, print progress, plugin connection details, and more.
We took it one step further by enabling AI chatbots or agents access to live snapshots from your printer’s webcam. The chatbot or agent can reason over a live image of your print or use it to save or send to other services.
Powerful 3D Printer Control
Our powerful 3D printer service also enables a standard 3D printer control interface. Through this interface, your AI chatbot or agent can issue commands such as pause, cancel, and resume. We plan to introduce additional commands in the future.
These commands are optional and can be disabled from the OctoEverywhere website. Doing so disables all access to them from any AI chatbot or agent.

Our global MCP server only allows you access with your unique Access Token, which can be retrieved and regenerated from our MCP server setup website.
