We all love to check in on our latest creations, and there are many great ways; the OctoPrint web portal, mobile apps, slicers, etc. Today we are excited to announce a new and extremely fast way to check in on the go, Quick View!
Quick view is an instant way to check your printer and print status. Quick View was built from the ground up to be blazing fast and a rich experience on all device types. The first thing you see is a full and beautiful webcam live stream. Then we surface the real-time print details you need, including status, progress, time left, Gadget’s failure assessment, and more.
Quick View is also the first OctoEverywhere feature where you can directly control your printer! If you notice that your print isn’t going to plan, you can use the pause or cancel buttons to quickly control the print.
Quick View is free for our entire OctoEverywhere community. Project supporters can enjoy enhanced Quick View features, like full webcam streams and longer Quick View streaming times. We are happy to provide our project supports these perks since they help fund the development of OctoEverywhere! As support grows, we strive to make more and more of OctoEverywhere completely free.

Our mission at OctoEverywhere is to empower the worldwide maker community, and thus we try to keep our services as free as possible and perks as low-cost as possible. By keeping our service free, we keep our service accessible to everyone.
We have been trying to avoid changes to supporter pricing for as long as possible. But given the recent changes in the global economy, several services that OctoEverywhere depends on have increased their pricing. We have been covering those price increases as much as possible, but we hit a tipping point where we need to increase supporter perk prices a small amount to continue the operation of OctoEverywhere.
The Supporter Perks price of OctoEverywhere has been the same since the start of the project. Since then, we have added OctoPrint App Support, Notifications, Live Streaming, AI-based failure detection, and much more. We are proud of the feature profile we have created, but all of these features, along with unlimited OctoPrint access, cost us funds to operate.
The Supporter Perks pricing will only increase by $1. This new rate is still well below the industry standard for any service comparable to OctoEverywhere. There are no changes to the free offerings of our service.
We hope this price increase will be temporary. We will constantly assess the operational costs of the service and lower the price again when possible.
Our entire project is community funded by supporters like you. We are over the moon that we have been able to foster such an amazing community of makers and are honored that our service has changed 3D printing as we know it. We will continue to innovate in our space, adding more features, products, and ways to make your 3D printing more powerful than ever.

Our goal at OctoEverywhere is to build tools and services that make 3D printing smarter and more effortless for makers around the world. Today we are thrilled to announce our latest adventure down that path, Gadget.
Gadget is your new 3D printing best friend. Gadget uses state-of-the-art artificial intelligence algorithms to continuously monitor your 3D prints and take real-time action when something isn’t looking great. At launch, Gadget will just be watching for common print failures, like spaghetti. But over time Gadget will learn to detect many common printing failures.
Gadget is really excited to meet you, but is still learning at the moment. We need to spend more time working with Gadget to help him learn and iron out all of the bugs in his programming, but we need your help!
We will be inviting a select few users to get early access to Gadget in the coming weeks. We will be looking for members of our community who are willing to test and send feedback to Gadget as he learns. If that sounds like you, request beta access today!

We are proud to announce our latest feature: Intelligent Server Selection!
With Intelligent Server Selection, we have seen OctoPrint portal speed and latency improvements up to 70% for some of our community. Our telemetry tells us that average users will see a 10-30% portal speed increase, but around 23% of our community will see a 70%+ speed increase!
OctoEverywhere is built on top of a cutting-edge global mesh network of servers. We try to get as many servers in as many regions as we can, so our entire community experiences amazing latency and performance when using their OctoPrint portals. Up until now, we have relied on traditional internet routing systems to get users to the server that’s closest to them. These systems are fine for basic internet requests, but when the latency is key, they are lackluster.
We developed an advanced real-time latency measuring system that’s automatically run by the plugin periodically to find the absolute best connection for your exact location. Using the information gathered by the latency testing, our plugin is then able to connect to the most ideal set of servers, delivering you the fastest possible OctoPrint portal experience.

A Quick Notification Overview
For those of you who don’t know, OctoEverywhere has a powerful and instantaneous notification engine that’s able to send you critical print information when you need it. You can get notified about many different things, like: print progress, print completion, print failed, first layer completed, filament change required, printer error, and more. All of these notifications are available to our entire community, for free, with no extra setup.
Our next-gen notification platform allows everyone in our community to customize exactly which notification types they want and where they want them. We support notifications via Email, SMS, Windows, Mac, Mobile Devices, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Pushover, and PushBullet. Each notification type is handcrafted for the endpoint with rich print information, large high-res images, and quick access links to your printer.

SMS Notifications
When OctoEverywhere’s notification platform launched we were really pleased to include SMS notifications. However, after a short period of time, we realized it would cost our community-supported service too much to provide SMS notifications with the system we had set up, so we had to disable them.
Fast forward to today and SMS notifications are back! We have been brainstorming new ways to implement SMS notifications so they are more affordable for the service, and we found one. We are so happy that after a few weeks of testing the system is performing flawlessly and it’s ready for our entire community to enjoy!
This feature we have been working on for a while, so I’m extreamly happy to get it in the hands of our community! With our new Desktop and Mobile Notifications, our community can enjoy instant and rich notifications directly on their Windows, Mac, and Android phones – with no app required!
We are leveraging the latest browser technology to deliver these notifications, which makes notifications appear directly in your operating systems notification center, just like any normal app. We put a lot of time and work into the message formatting, to ensure the notifications are dense with useful information and include beautiful high-res real-time screenshots.
For Android users, you can get instant and beautiful notifications direclty to your phone just like a normal Android app would provide.It’s really cool!
For Windows or Mac users, you can use any modern web browser to set up notifications directly to your operating systems notification action center. It’s magical.
Unforentally we can’t support iOS devices at the moment due to Apple not implementing the web technologies required. But there are rumors that these notification technologies might be included in iOS 16, and if they are, we will support them!
Finally, I’m happy to announce that we have added a new notification type based on popular feedback from the community. The “User Interaction Required” notification type can be enabled for any notification platform and will inform you when your printer needs your help. What printer events trigger the notification depends on your printer hardware, but usually these fire if the hot end crashes, the printer has an error, or the printer needs the user to manually confirm an issue with the physical hardware.

Security is the #1 priority for OctoEverywhere. We constantly strive to improve our service to make sure your printer and account only are accessible to you.
Today we are excited to announce email account access verification! This new system applies to all accounts and is enabled by default. It protects your account by only allowing logins from trusted locations. If you try to log in to your account from an untrusted location, you will get an email with a two-factor access code you must add to the login. The new location will then be trusted for up to 6 months and thus will allow logins with no account access verification needed.
Note that the trusted location technology only applies to account login and other actions that are security-sensitive. If you are already logged in on a device and move elsewhere, you will not need to verify access with the trusted location system.
OctoEverywhere has supported app-based two-factor authentication for a long time now, which is the best way to lock down your account. The issue is app-based two-factor requires the user to enable it and most users don’t. Since our new email account access verification system applies to all accounts and is always enabled, it protects our entire community from the start.

Live Links allow everyone to share a free and secure public stream of their prints with friends, family, or the entire world! Live Links are packed with features, like webcam streaming, live printer information, and model links. Live Links also use a rich social sharing technology that puts your print snapshot and information front and center.
Live Links support adding your social accounts to the bottom of every link you generate to let viewers know where to find you! It’s a great way to share your work and allow users to follow you if they like what they see.
